Front Cover

For the very first time... I have a quilt that I designed, made and quilted on the FRONT cover of the latest Australian Patchwork and Quilting (due in the shops on Jan. 23)

I am very excited about that. I enjoyed the process of getting the instructions ready and samples of each stage made, ready to photograph....

I am also pleased to have been asked to submit another quilt project.....so I am currently busy writing up the instructions for that.....

Winding Down

I still have quilting to finish but can see the end in sight. I am looking forward to a break with the family and plan to embarrass the kids a LOT by finding my swimmers and spending time at the beach with them.

The last "Sew-n-Chat" for the year was yesterday.... and I took my "Traditional Nine -Patch" swap blocks for show-n-tell. The girls LOVED the idea and asked if our little group could organise one for next year. SO...we picked a block ...and a colour scheme...and when I have worked out the cutting requirements I will post it here...late January ....reddy to start Feb. If you are interested in joining in please let me know...

This years swap ready to go to Trish....

Christmas Cringe...

I have ordered in some rulers to help get those mitred corners accurate....not many people get it right and end up with awful corners or wavy borders due to not enough fabric being taken out of the corners.....takes all the guess work out of the process....so that you can avoid the mess that you can see below...

Two E-2-E's done the top one is "Quills" by Lorien Quilting"...its is fast becoming a favourite....and below is 'Wildflower"....

Friday Showcase at the NSW Quilters Guild had Leanne Harvey from Mount Vincent Quilts as the guest quilter...LOTS of lovely BRIGHT, BIG quilts...a nice way to end the week...
The Christmas decorations are up in the shops which always makes me cringe......lots of quilts to get out the door between now and then...
Have a great week

October Quilt of the Month

Above is October's "Quilt of the Month". The quilt's centre was pieced by Margo Hardie who, not wanting to finish it, donated the unfinished top to the "Blueberries Charity Sewers". The quilt was completed and then passed on to me to quilt. It has been quilted with an edge-to-edge design called "Quills" from Lorien Quilting.
"Blueberries Charity Sewers" meet once a month on a Tuesday.
Meeting dates are...Oct.15th, Nov.12th, Dec. 3rd
All welcome. The group has donated to a variety of charities including the Wyong Neighbourhood Centre and the Morisset Womens Refuge. Donations of batting, orphan blocks or quilts and fabric welcome.
Call Blueberries on 02 43554400 for more information.

Last Friday Beth and I travelled to Sydney to attend the NSW Quilters Guild Friday Showcase. This month it was members show-n-tell. Above is me with "Finally finished" and below is Beth presenting her quilt "Shufflin"
We saw some wonderful members quilts...a great day.
