October Quilt of the Month

Above is October's "Quilt of the Month". The quilt's centre was pieced by Margo Hardie who, not wanting to finish it, donated the unfinished top to the "Blueberries Charity Sewers". The quilt was completed and then passed on to me to quilt. It has been quilted with an edge-to-edge design called "Quills" from Lorien Quilting.
"Blueberries Charity Sewers" meet once a month on a Tuesday.
Meeting dates are...Oct.15th, Nov.12th, Dec. 3rd
All welcome. The group has donated to a variety of charities including the Wyong Neighbourhood Centre and the Morisset Womens Refuge. Donations of batting, orphan blocks or quilts and fabric welcome.
Call Blueberries on 02 43554400 for more information.

Last Friday Beth and I travelled to Sydney to attend the NSW Quilters Guild Friday Showcase. This month it was members show-n-tell. Above is me with "Finally finished" and below is Beth presenting her quilt "Shufflin"
We saw some wonderful members quilts...a great day.

  1. Both quilts are gorgeous! And how generous of her to donate the partial flimsy and then to others for finishing it! Love your quilting as usual! :)

  3. That's a wonderful gesture of Margo...... I think there are a whole lot of patchworkers out there who have stored those ünwanted projects into the cupboard, never to see the light of day. Your quilt and your daughters ......... look beautiful. Well done!!!
