Wiggle Wobble Class

The week ended on a high with a lovely small class participating in the "Wiggle Wobble" quilting class.

The class involves walking foot quilting and free-motion quilting.
The basic 'grid' is marked out using a template...

then stitched out with your walking foot.....free-motion background fills were covered as well as stitching out repeated quilt design/motifs using quilt and tear paper.....a lot of work to cover in one day.....
I am teaching the same class at Dungog's "Quiltarama" in June this year...but over 2 days....the girls and myself had a really good day.

Achieved some quilting too...

"Simple Jacobean" from Lorien Quilting...

"Formica" from Keryn Emmerson...

"Peacock" from Lorien Quilting

"Lively" from Lorien Quilting...

A strippy quilt where I had fun with LOTS of patterns...

I am now stocking "Wonderfil Threads"...beautiful threads...100% cotton...I am gradually building up the colours...

Have a great week

Friday Showcase

Once a month on the first Friday of the month I am lucky to be able to attend the NSW Quilters Guild Friday Showcase where a quilter is invited to attend and showcase his or her work.
This month's guest quilter was Carol Roberts of "Cherie Pie Designs".Carol has a huge body of work. A lover of hand applique and hand quilting......a really enjoyable morning viewing her gorgeous quilts.

Finished a custom quilt that took WAY too long......here's the back....

Loved working on the edge-to-edge below....such a beautiful quilt......"botanical blossoms" is the name of the pattern.

Big week coming up with Catherine Butterworth teaching on Wed., then the Shed Sewing Circle on Friday morning, and a Baby Wholecloth class on Saturday.......

Quilt Frame Hire

The Central Coast Annual Quilt Show is on again on the weekend of 12th and 13th April.
A wonderful event to be involved in, raising money for Cancer Care Services.
Please consider entering a quilt, it's a great opportunity to showcase our local talent.

The Quilt Frames that were made especially for our show were available for sale recently......SOOOO I bought them. Well made, sturdy frames. I will be following on from the original owner Janette Jones and offering them out to quilt groups for hire.( see quilt frame hire page for more info)

I have been busy quilting but can't show many things.....a small sneak peak of Rachael's beautiful quilt...a joy to work on...

Really wet weather here this weekend so great weather for sewing I think...

Hope you're sewing too

Block Swap

A small group of us have decided to do a block swap.I enjoyed the one organised by Trish so much last year...and when I showed the end results to Saturday's "sew-n-chat" girls we thought we would have another go this year.
We have chosen the above block called "Flying Squares", using a white, red, mid blue and dark blue colour scheme.
Each month we will need to create a set of identical blocks (number will depend on the number of people in the swap), keeping true to the position of the colours in the block. The idea is to vary the fabrics each month, (still using the same colours in the same spots). The swap will go for 6 months with the first set of blocks due at the end of March. At the end of the 6 months ALL blocks get sent to me and they are "shuffled" and sent back to participants.
At the moment we have 6 people interested and would really like a couple more. Do you think you might have the commitment needed to join us. Let me know if you do .
All block size cutting requirements, fabric quantities sent out soon.
Have a great week

If you are interested in joining in please let me know...
