This Weeks Quilting

An unusual custom quilt finished...lots of freehand fills and outlining on this one...

Last of the baby quilts quilted...just need to bind them now....

The last domestic quilting class at "All About Sewing" for the year was held yesterday.....

Jane called in with her quilt finished ....lovely quilting !!!

Christmas Parties and Concerts.

The week began VERY hot....of course ...as we were to attend the end of year concert for the school band that Miss Beth belongs to....EVERY year so far has been really hot on the day of the concert. LOVE sitting in the school hall under those conditions...but seriously it has been wonderful listening to her practice all those Christmas carols in the house...she has become quite good at the flute...

A custom finished with a mixture of freehand outlining, ditching and background fills with some statler flowers...Designs by Vickie.

A semi-custom using Tammy Finklers log cabin block...turned out beautifully.

Finished the week yesterday by attending the "All About Sewing" christmas party.......have loved working there...great group of people.

The Quilt Purchase

I have never purchased someone else's quilt before, but when I saw that this one was for sale at a local patchwork shop "Blueberries" ..I just had to grab it.

I quilted it for Jackie the owner of "Blueberries" a LONG time ago..and I felt it just had to come home with me....

A few E-2-E's finished.....

My walking foot wholecloth finished.....

It is a pattern from Keryn Emmerson's collection....wholecloth's for beginners...designed to be stitched out entirely with your walking foot...took a few Sunday afternoons.

Another Busy One..

Began the week by finishing a custom quilt that I had been running late with.......

The quilt has been freehand quilted with a couple of motifs stitched out by the Statler...I'm really happy with how it turned out...

Got some baby quilts completed and delivered....

Finished some E-2-E's.....

The above quilt has "Yin Yang" from Lorien Quilting on it....

The fairy quilt has "Angel Wings" by Jodi Beamish on it.....

Worked on an Edge to Edge with trim....."Gossamer" by Lorien quilting in the background and the applique blocks trimmed out.....then the appliques outlined and stippled behind...turned out well...

Have also been working on some cot sized quilts to sell.....I have used hand dyed fabric from www.stitchesandspice.com.au and used "Echoshell" by Keryn Emmerson ....LOVE the result...

Funny ol' Week

A funny ol' week with LOTS going on but not much to show...

I finished a candlewick quilt which was semi-custom quilted using Joanne Knott's "Cornice" border and corner set...and Deb Giessler's "swirls outline" frame. Minimal quilting...kept it soft.

I was pleased with the result.

Quilting Class

Just had to share this photo of Ruby ....she just loves the camera.....almost like she knows what it is for...

Tried out some new patterns this week...I have joined two pantograph clubs....one from Lorien Quilting....the first photo is "Hollyhock"from Lorien.....and also Keryn Emmerson's "Kitchen Sink"club...will try some of those newies this week.

The second photo is Lisa Calle's "starlets" and is available free from her website.....thought it would be good for kids quilt...

Quilting classes are held at "All About Sewing" Charmhaven on the first Saturday of the month and the third Friday. The idea is to run you thru' a 'basics' lesson and  from then on you bring your own thing to QUILT. The classes have been going well and I am constantly being amazed at the work being produced!!

This is a close up of Wendy's homework......she worked out the quilting plan/design last lesson and went home and quilted it with her walking foot. Love it!
