Bit Tired...

Bit tired this week after the Newcastle show....

I am nearly finished a custom...

Finished a couple of E-2-E's...this is a close up of one...love the colour...

 This one below one will be raffled for a local school....

Hope they sell lots of tickets.

The week ended with Miss Beth and I attending the Central Coast Modern Quilt Guilds' monthly sit n sew...a great day.

The week that was

The week that was.... started with the completion of  a couple of E-2-E quilts.

Both quilted with designs by my favourite pattern designer Irene Steele...love her work!

A semi-custom...

And NEARLY finishing a custom...only about an hour to go on it........

Saturday the "Junior" sewers met at "All About Sewing" Charmhaven...

Lara finished her quilt top...just needs a border....

Leah made a bag on her new machine....

Beth was  busy with  a new quilt. Charlotte completed a bag..

Paige and Tiarne were busy quilting their quilts....you can just see Tiarne's quilt in the right hand corner here...doing well.

This week I will be working at the Newcastle Sewing and Craft Show....on the "All About Sewing" stand.

We are stand D12. Hope to see some of you there.

Sewing With Friends

Looking forward to sewing with friends today after a busy week that saw me background fill 145 cranes and then quilt 88 motifs into this quilts border blocks.

I also finished a small "Wonky Donkey"

..and completed this semi-custom..

So today...on a beautiful sunny day....I'm going to take some time out for me and go sewing with friends....no vacuuming today!!!

Done .....and Dusted...!!!!!!

All baby quilts have been quilted...bound...and delivered....YAHOO!!!!

Now back to normality....nice to see the sun out the shed door today.

Busy Busy!

Six customer edge-to-edges and fouteen baby quilts quilted, with binding on six baby quilts.Only eight more to bind before I have to deliver them on Wed. morning.

It has been incredibly busy.....ended up with a massive head ache yesterday.....just need to keep going!

The Shed

The shed looks like this at the moment with stuff everywhere...need to get back on top of my customer quilts. Second last day of school hols so lets hope for a good work week.

A semi-custom completed.

A "Juniors"class held Saturday which saw Lucinda finish her pincushion...she is doing really well..and you can see Lara's quilt progressing well in the background.

School Holidays

School holidays are great...but I do find it hard to "juggle" all the things that need to be done.
After and intense week getting a run of baby quilts completed and delivered...

Followed by a "short-sharp" visit to Mum and Dad's in the Central West of NSW

...had the camera on self-timer...can you tell?..looks like we are all sick of waiting for the shutter to go off!!!
Now this week contains 2 ...yes 2...junior classes...and somewhere in all this chaos I have to find time to get back on top of my customers quilts....madness.

Thursday with the Juniors

I love school holidays because we get to have the "All About Sewing Junior's" in for a class.....a great day today!

A quilt top finished ready for quilting.

A new quilt laid out ready to sew.

A row of above quilt sewn together.

Some butterflies embroidered.

A new student who spent some time in the "unpicking chair".... but said she wanted to come next week anyway!!!

Some scallops quilted into a border....really well ....even though she doesn't look like all is going well.
Some chocolate cake eaten...the usual.
A great day.
Next "Juniors" is Thursday  12th July.

Last week

Last week was a busy one...felt like I hit the ground running after working 5 days at the Darling Harbour Quilt Show on the Margarets Fabrics stand. Had a great time.
Thankyou to the lovely Leanne from Mount Vincent Quilts who took a photo of Beth in front of her winning quilt for me.

Mum and Dad came over from the Central West to visit and Mum took Beth down to the show on the Sat.

Dad celebrated his birthday while he was here...happy birthday Dad!

A lot of work has come in recently so I need to get busy now and get caught up.

"All About Sewing Junior Sewers" met at the shop yesterday and the girls are busy ,busy.

Beth made a cushion with a ZIPPER!!!...yes a dreaded zipper!...and it turned out well.

Courteney finished her quilt, all but hand sewing down the binding...which she didn't enjoy.
Lara started a new quilt and Charlotte only needs to put the final border on her dissappearing nine patch.
We will be having 2 school holiday classes at All About Sewing both on the  Thursday from 9.am - 1pm. the 4th and the 12th July.

Finally Finished !!!

I actually called my Sydney Quilt Show entry "Finally Finished". I am SO glad that it is finished.
I started the quilt when I attended a  mystery quilt weekend at "Rags to Riches" in Cessnock when it was still open....maybe 5 years ago...and it sat unfinished for a while.
I completed the quilt top last year at Quilt Camp...and then quilted it JUST NOW!!!
I'm hoping it hangs flat...I think I overdid the loopy/loop stipple in the centre which is making the borders do a little ripple.

....too late now...it's gone to my drop off lady!

Missy Beth also finished her junior entry....a big efffort....she called it "Shufflin' " as she felt she shuffled the fabrics around so much.

Love how bright it is.

Will be working on the "Margarets Fabrics" stand at the Sydney Quilt Show next week...drop by and say hi!

Last Minute!!!!

Leave something to the last minute????? ....Me?????....... NEVER!!!

This week saw me finishing my Sydney Quilt Show entry...luckily I work well under pressure.

Finished the week off with a trip to Sydney to the Australian Quilt Market with Ally, Jody, Leanne and Monique. Had a great day...saw lots of new stuff...too much gorgeous new stuff....

Custom Edge to Edge

This week saw me finish a custom edge to edge......an edge to edge in the centre of the quilt and then a seperate border quilted, with the quilt being turned to do the last two borders.

 

 I tacked the entire quilt first, then ditch stitched the  inner border.

Anne Brights "Artistic Luna" has been quilted in the centre. The border has feathers, stippling and some straight line work.

I also finished this lovely quilt for a young lady....I have used a favourite pattern by Jodi Beamish "Daisy Swirl". I love how it has turned out.

The week ened with my birthday being spent at "All About Sewing" teaching the "Juniors"..... some great progress being made by a wonderful group of girls.

Tried out a new Anne Bright E2E  pattern this week....really like it!!

Juniors' Sewing Class at "All About Sewing"went well...

A new quilt started for a baby boy.

A pincushion/thread bin started and finished.

All but one of the nine patches sewn for a dissappearing nine patch.

BIG progress on another dissappearing nine patch.

A good day....we were a bit noisy at times...might have to ban chocolate!
